All windows have similar components, frame, glass and hardware. What sets the H Window apart from plastic (vinyl), composite, wood/aluminum clad or fiberglass frame windows is the unmatched thermal performance and the industry’s highest ratings against air and water infiltration.

The H Window outperforms the competition in total performance tests. No operable window seals tighter. In fact, H Window scores better on 50 mph air infiltration tests than most windows can at 25 mph, and not just in the lab. We set our benchmarks in real-world tests on installed windows. High performance is due to the design of the hinge, which allows an uninterrupted perimeter seal, meaning that the harder the wind
blows, the tighter the H Window becomes.

Frame

No other framing material can match the strength and beauty of an extruded aluminum frame. Besides the unparalleled strength and durability of aluminum, the H Window can be coated to virtually any color imaginable.

Before the H window, all aluminum framed windows failed to deliver thermal performance compared with windows made with other framing materials. The H Window design delivers extreme thermal performance because it is two windows built into one.

Two window system

The H Window “two window system” combines an extruded aluminum exterior with a real wood interior. Unlike “Aluminum clad” windows which place a thin casing of aluminum directly against the wood, the H Window prevents any direct contact between its extruded aluminum frame and the real wood interior. Moisture will always corrupt wood. The H Window eliminates the failure of a wood-clad window which transmits moisture from the aluminum to the wood. The H Window prevents any moisture by using the insulated glass and a channeled butyl rubber to keep the aluminum window from ever making contact with the interior wood window.

As well, the H Window’s extruded aluminum frame is chambered to a perfectly designed weeping system which also prevents any water infiltration and any contamination of the wood interior.

The H Window frame not only protects the interior wood window but it also provides the highest water infiltration test results in the window industry.

Awning design

The awning design of the H Window operating system provides for the feature that allows you to easily flip/reverse the exterior of the window to the interior without disturbing your widow dressings or interior blinds.

The design of the H Window awning window provides the highest test ratings against air infiltration. As wind blows harder against the H Window awning, the window seals tighter into the weather stripping. Test results demonstrate the H-Window awning protects against wind and air infiltration many times better than any other window design.

High Performance Glass Options

Since every H Window is custom made, your options for high performance can be customized for your home’s needs.

The standard thermal pane glass contains two (2) pieces of clear glass with a low emissivity (Low-E) coating on the second (2nd) surface. The panes are separated by an insulating spacer and filled with argon gas. The entire unit is sealed airtight with an overall thickness of 1” O.A. Triple pane windows have an overall thickness of 1-3/8” O.A. The insulated glass is then dry glazed into the window before shipment.

With the H Window custom glass options, we can adjust your window system for optimal performance if you live in a cold climate with sub zero or in the middle of the desert with temperatures above three digits. Double or triple glazing with argon and custom tinting to obtain the most efficient Solar Heat Gain and Shading Coefficient will make your H Window obtain high performance wherever you live.

Sound Control

The STC-ratings of 28 to 46 are some the highest in the industry. Even higher ratings are available, based on glass choice, window configuration and window size. The H Window two window system provides top rated noise/sound performance.

DESIGNED FOR NORWAY - MADE IN AMERICA

The H Window was designed in Norway, where homes are subject to environmental extremes. These extremes range from severe arctic coastal conditions to cold weather blasts directly from the North Pole.

All of Norway lies north of the most southern part of Canada, and about a third of its land is north of the Arctic Circle. The H Window was designed to insulate homes from sub-zero arctic blasts from the polar cap, while providing the home with the lasting beauty of a real wood interior.
